If you are in NYC any time now until Oct. 28, you must go here. It’s called “Fireflies on the Water.” Yayoi Kusama is incredible; the whole exhibit is great, but this 60 second one-person-at-a-time room experience was pure magic.
Pro Tip: Skip the crazy line. Buy tickets to the Whitney online before you go, I got mine a day in advance. You can get into the broader Kusama exhibit that way, but you’ll still need a separate ticket for Fireflies. That ticket is free and gets you in at a certain time slot. After you order your ticket, get to the museum early and wait in the “ticket holders” line. When you pick your ticket up at will call ask for a ticket to Fireflies. I’ve heard you can get a ticket later in the day, but since it’s a popular exhibit you risk not getting in. Enjoy!
Oh and technically photos aren’t allowed … but fuck it.
